“FAIRLY” CLOSE TO HOME!
It’s “FAIRLY” clear to see the Knox County MO Fair Association & the “Old Fashioned Festival” in Newark MO offer something for everyone, and you don’t have far to travel.
In 2012 there were many open exhibits and competitions. Here is a list of a few: ( no entry fee, register day of show)
- photography
- art
- quilting
- woodworking
- garden vegetables
- floral
- best homemade pie, cake, brownies, bread & jelly
- livestock shows included: poultry, rabbits, sheep, goats, beef & dairy cattle
The 2013 details are in the works. It’s now time for businesses and individuals to jump in and sponsor exhibits / contest. We hope to have those from last year and even add some new ones this year. A contest is only set when a sponsor comes forward to provide the funding for the trophy/ ribbon/ prize money. A donation of $25 or more will provide awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in a contest.
There is still time if you would like to sponsor a livestock show. In each species top entries receives ribbons/ prize money and of course we have to pay a judge. Email kcmofaira@yahoo.com for more information.
The most important thing is just bring your family and come have a good time. Don’t forget to bring a lawn chair or a blanket to relax. Parking is free. Entertainment is free. Vendors will be set up in the Newark Park with food and other items for sale.
